![]() Not sure how does this work for xbox though.? Can you turn voice off there at all?. So yes, if you use controller on PC, you have no way to turn push to talk on or the actually voice off. As soon as it's on, voice activation is on, even though the menu does not indicate it. S**t just letting us designate which buttons did what function would work as i could keybind it to the back paddle on the Elite said in Push-to-talk on PTT works on PC till you actually connect a controller. Unless I go all the way out of my way and take my hand off controller and have keyboard sitting next to me ready to press the PTT key just to say something.Ĭlicking left/right on dpad or holding it would work. I use Discord to talk with my crew but if we're only 3 of the 4 on our ship and wanna talk to the 4th random or just wanna talk to enemies i cant now because I'm choosing to use a controller. Using a service like Discord you dont want it off push to talk because you'll hear yourself twice. I wanna enable Pushtotalk for in game chat so if the game let me designate a button to that PTT function on the controller setup then i could still activate/deactivate it on the fly when i need to talk to someone in game. I still use my PC for all it's benefits like Discord chat and that. I play this game with my Elite because i prefer a controller on casual games like this but ![]() What about those of us on PC that still wanna use an Xbox One Controller? I just want them to implement/correct it when they get to the audio shape-up in development. I mean it is really fine, I don't need an immediate fix, I can wait. ![]() I prefer ingame chat over others, for the fun of it. Using Discord or TS is fun, but people who is not in the crew can't hear those individuals then and that takes off from the game in my opinion. My current headphones have a very laggy mute button, it's really old one, so I will pass on that, thanks for the tip though. Un-mute when you want to talk.Īlso, PC has the advantage of not having to use XBL for voice chat. Please give us a button on the controller too. I would also like this feature, simply because on PC, using the xbox controller forces voice activation, even though the menu says I am on push-to-talk still. I was getting the same thing as you it looked initially like the game was picking up something as the bubble would appear but then go away and it wasn't really doing it when I spoke.īut the "set as default communication device" (right click on the mic in Sound Control Panel - this appears on the right side in Sound settings under "Related settings") was the solution.Īfter I did that, it was working as before the update.Said in Push-to-talk on Good to know, that at least some XBOX players want PTT as well. Including setting the input and output for Sea of Thieves in Sound Settings - Advanced sound options - App volume device preferences (the game needs to be running for it to appear there). Up to that point I had tried everything - setting every Xbox app's input and output. ![]() After hours of chasing it, it turned out to be very simple but easily missable: Windows had turned off the option on my mic in Sound Control Panel which had it set as the Default Communication Device. I did that last night and I had a very similar issue. Out of curiosity, did you do the latest Windows 10 update to version 20H2? I have tried everything people say online and no luck. My microphone works, I have used it before. Most of the time when I press the key it doesnt work, but sometimes the bubble appears for a few seconds and then dissapears.
